About 99.5 The Wolf
99.5 The Wolf is a Dallas–Fort Worth country station. It broadcasts as KPLX on 99.5 FM, is licensed to Fort Worth, Texas, and serves the metroplex with the slogan "Texas Country". The station is owned by Cumulus Media, and on this page you can listen to The Wolf live online, free. The online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.
Gold-based country
The Wolf plays a gold-based country format: country hits from recent decades with current favorites mixed in. Some programming comes through Westwood One.
Two country stations, two sounds
Cumulus owns two FM country stations in the market, but KPLX and KSCS keep separate staffs and separate musical directions.
Studios
The studios and offices are in the Victory Park district of Dallas, just north of downtown.
History
The station signed on in 1962 as KXOL-FM and was briefly KCWM before becoming KPLX — for the Metroplex.
HD Radio and sisters
HD2 simulcasts WBAP's talk. In Dallas–Fort Worth, Cumulus also owns KLIF, KSCS, KTCK, KTCK-FM, WBAP and WBAP-FM.
