About WSM Radio 650
WSM Radio 650 is Nashville's legendary country station. It broadcasts on 650 AM, serves Middle Tennessee and uses the slogan "Nashville's Country Mix and the Opry". On this page you can listen to WSM live online, free.
Home of the Grand Ole Opry
WSM plays country music, Americana and bluegrass, and it carries near-nightly live broadcasts of the Grand Ole Opry. Because of its place in the history of country music, the station reaches a worldwide audience through its internet stream.
The Air Castle of the South
Nicknamed "The Air Castle of the South", WSM broadcasts with 50,000 watts around the clock from a facility in Brentwood, Tennessee. It has one of the largest daytime coverage areas in the country — as far as Chattanooga, Evansville, Jackson and Huntsville — and at night its clear-channel signal reaches much of North America and nearby countries.
We Shield Millions
WSM signed on on October 5, 1925. Its call letters come from "We Shield Millions", the slogan of its former owner, the National Life & Accident Insurance Company.
Networks
WSM carries programming from Compass Media Networks, NBC News Radio and Premiere Networks alongside the Opry.
