About 97.1 The Ticket

97.1 The Ticket is Detroit's sports radio station. It broadcasts as WXYT-FM on 97.1 FM and serves Metro Detroit and much of Southeast Michigan with sports talk and play-by-play. Owned by Audacy, The Ticket is one of the most popular sports stations in the country, and here you can listen to it live online, free and in your browser. The station's online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.

Every Detroit team

Few stations are as closely tied to their city's teams. The Ticket's affiliations include the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions, plus the Michigan Wolverines, so it is the place to hear Detroit's games live. National broadcasts come from Westwood One Sports.

Sports talk all day

When there is no game on, the station's slogan says it all: Detroit sports talk all day. Morning drive, midday and afternoon shows follow every trade, injury report and playoff race, and listeners from across Michigan call in to join the debate.

From WWJ-FM to The Ticket

The 97.1 FM signal is one of Detroit's oldest FM frequencies. It went on the air in May 1941 and spent decades as WWJ-FM before carrying a number of formats under different call letters. The WXYT name comes from sister station WXYT on 1270 AM. Studios and offices are in Southfield.

Extra HD channels

WXYT-FM broadcasts in HD Radio. Its HD2 channel carries the all-news programming of sister station WWJ, and its HD3 channel carries WXYT's sports-betting programming.

Sister stations

The Ticket shares ownership with WWJ, WOMC, WYCD and other Detroit stations.
