Alternative rock

KROQ plays alternative rock — new music from the alternative and indie world together with the songs that made the station famous. Its HD2 channel, "Roq of the 80s", plays new wave and classic alternative.

The lineup

Weekdays start with Klein.Ally.Show. in the mornings, followed by Doug "Sluggo" Roberts in middays, Kevin Ryder in afternoon drive and Megan Holiday in the evening.

The ROQ of Los Angeles

The station signed on on April 23, 1962, as KPPC-FM and kept those calls until 1973. The KROQ name was taken from its former AM sister, KROQ, billed as "The ROQ (rock) of Los Angeles".

Sister stations

Audacy's Los Angeles stations also include KCBS-FM, KFRG, KNX, KNX-FM, KRTH, KTWV and KXFG.
