About 102.5 DVE
102.5 WDVE is Pittsburgh's classic rock station. It broadcasts on 102.5 FM, serves the Pittsburgh metropolitan area and calls itself "Pittsburgh's Classic Rock & The Steelers". The station is owned by iHeartMedia, and on this page you can listen to DVE live online, free.
Classic rock
DVE plays classic rock — the guitar-driven songs and album cuts that have defined Pittsburgh radio for decades.
The Steelers
WDVE is part of the Pittsburgh Steelers Audio Network, so in the fall the station is a big part of game day in Pittsburgh. Its HD2 channel carries Steelers Nation Radio, devoted to the team all year.
A superpower signal
WDVE is designated a superpower station by the Federal Communications Commission: its effective radiated power of 55,000 watts exceeds the maximum the FCC sets for a Class B FM station, which helps the signal reach well beyond the city.
History
The station signed on on May 12, 1962, as KQV-FM and became WDVE in 1970; the call letters are said to mean "Wonderful Dove". More than half a century later, the DVE name is still one of the best known in Pittsburgh radio.
Sister stations
Through iHeartMedia, WDVE shares ownership with WBGG, WKST-FM, WPGB, WWSW-FM and WXDX-FM in Pittsburgh.
