103.5 KTU live

103.5 KTU is a New York hit music station. It broadcasts as WKTU on 103.5 FM, is licensed to Lake Success on Long Island and serves the New York metropolitan area with the slogan "The Beat of New York". The station is owned by iHeartMedia, and on this page you can listen to KTU live online, free.

The Beat of New York

KTU plays a rhythmic adult contemporary format: dance and pop hits with a beat, current songs and favorites from past decades. National programming comes through Premiere Networks and iHeartRadio.

A Bon Jovi story

In 1983, when the frequency was rock station WAPP, a then-unknown Jon Bon Jovi visited the station and wrote and sang its jingles. DJ Chip Hobart suggested he let WAPP include his song "Runaway" on the station's compilation album of local talent, and Bon Jovi eventually agreed. "Runaway" was entered in WAPP's "New York Rocks 1983" contest — and did not win; the Frankie Carr Band did.

History

The station signed on on September 1, 1958, as WGLI-FM and later became WTFM, WAPP, WQHT and WYNY before WKTU.

HD Radio and sisters

HD2 carries talk from WOR. iHeartMedia also owns WAXQ, WHTZ, WLTW, WOR, WWPR-FM and WWRL in New York.
