96.5 The Fan is Kansas City's sports station. It broadcasts as KFNZ-FM on 96.5 FM and simulcasts with sister station KFNZ on 610 AM, except when both have games at the same time. The stations are owned by Audacy, with studios on Squibb Road in Mission, Kansas, and on this page you can listen to The Fan live online, free. The online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.

Chiefs and Royals

The Fan is the flagship of the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network and the Kansas City Royals Radio Network, so football Sundays and baseball summers both run through these stations.

Weekdays are filled with local sports talk about the Chiefs, the Royals and the rest of Kansas City sports. Nights and weekends come from Fox Sports Radio.

History

The frequency signed on on September 3, 1959, as KXTR and was KRBZ from 2000 until 2024. Its current call letters, KFNZ-FM, stand for "Fans". HD2 simulcasts KFNZ 610 AM.
