The Team 980 / 95.9 live

The Team 980 is a Washington sports station. It broadcasts as WTEM on 980 AM, with a simulcast on 95.9 FM, serves the Washington–Baltimore area and calls itself "The Home for DC Football". The station is owned by Audacy, and here you can listen to The Team live online, free. The online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.

DC sports

The Team's affiliations include the Washington Wizards and the Maryland Terrapins, along with national programming from Fox Sports Radio and Westwood One and sports-betting talk from the BetMGM Network. Its local shows follow Washington's football team closely, which is where its slogan comes from.

A century on the air

WTEM traces its history to WRC, which signed on in August 1923 and was a charter affiliate of NBC in 1926, later part of NBC's Red Network. The frequency moved to 950 AM in 1928 and to 980 AM in 1941, when North American stations were reorganized. It was WRC and then WWRC for decades before becoming WTEM, "Team", in the 1990s.

Sister stations

WTEM works closely with sister station 106.7 The Fan (WJFK-FM) and shares ownership with WPGC-FM and other Audacy stations in Washington.
