LA sports talk
The Fan is sports talk for Southern California: local hosts on the Dodgers, Lakers, Rams, Chargers, Kings, Clippers and the region's colleges, with listeners calling in from across the Southland. National games come from Westwood One Sports.
Many formats on 97.1
The frequency has been on the air since 1954 and has had many identities. For more than two decades it was KLSX, known for talk and personality radio, and it later carried other formats. In 2021 it took the KNX-FM call letters from its famous sister, all-news KNX 1070, and began simulcasting news before switching to sports as The Fan.
HD channels
KNX-FM broadcasts in HD Radio: HD2 simulcasts all-news KNX, and HD3 carries Fire Lane, a non-stop dance mix.
Studios and signal
The studios are at Wilshire and Hauser Boulevards in the Miracle Mile district, and the transmitter is on Mount Wilson.
Sister stations
In Los Angeles, The Fan shares ownership with KNX, KROQ, KRTH, KTWV and other Audacy stations.
