About 710 ESPN LA
710 ESPN LA is the sports station of Los Angeles. It broadcasts as KSPN on 710 AM and serves Greater Los Angeles and San Diego County with the slogan "LA's #1 Sports Station". The station is owned by Good Karma Broadcasting, and on this page you can listen to ESPN LA live online, free.
LA teams
KSPN's affiliations read like a list of Southern California sports: the Los Angeles Lakers, Rams, Angels, Kings, Los Angeles FC and the USC Trojans, along with ESPN Radio programming.
The KMPC years
The station signed on on February 19, 1927, as KRLO and was KEJK before taking the call sign KMPC in March 1930 — chosen for its owner, the MacMillan Petroleum Company — which it kept for 67 years. Its studios were then at 3651 Wilshire Boulevard. Later owned by George A. Richards of Detroit, KMPC joined the Goodwill Station group with WJR in Detroit and WGAR in Cleveland.
Sports radio since the 1940s
KMPC became Southern California's home for sports, carrying Pacific Coast League baseball and UCLA Bruins sports and, from 1946, the Los Angeles Rams. After KMPC came the calls KTZN and KDIS before KSPN — for ESPN Radio — took over.
