Local talk and ESPN
On weekdays The Fan runs local sports shows about the Braves, Falcons, Hawks and the Georgia and Georgia Tech teams that dominate the Southeast, and at nights and weekends it carries the ESPN Radio Network, with which it is affiliated.
From news to sports
The 680 AM frequency signed on in September 1965 as WRNG. In 1982 it became WCNN and carried CNN Headline News on the radio — the source of its call letters — before switching to sports. Today the call sign is a reminder of that all-news past in CNN's hometown.
