Hurricanes and more

The Fan carries the Carolina Hurricanes and Charlotte FC, and it is the Triangle's ESPN Radio affiliate. Its local shows cover the Hurricanes, the Panthers and, above all in this region, college sports — the passions of NC State, North Carolina and Duke fans.

WCMC-FM is owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company, a Raleigh media company that also owns WRAL-TV, Fox affiliate WRAZ, WRAL-FM, sports station WDNC and the Durham Bulls minor-league baseball team. The studios are in north Raleigh, shared with WRAL-FM and WDNC.

Call letters and HD channels

The WCMC call letters come from an earlier format, "Country Music for Carolina". In HD Radio, HD2 simulcasts WDNC (620 The Buzz) and HD3 simulcasts WDUR with Indian and South Asian programming.
