99.5 The Wolf live

99.5 The Wolf is Portland's country station. It broadcasts as KWJJ-FM on 99.5 FM and serves the Portland metropolitan area with the slogan "Portland's New Country". The station is owned by Audacy, and on this page you can listen to The Wolf live online, free. The online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.

New country

The Wolf plays country music — today's hits and new artists for Oregon and Southwest Washington. HD2 carries Channel Q.

From easy listening to country

The station signed on on September 16, 1968, as KJIB, an easy listening station. In 1974 it was bought by Park Communications, which a year earlier had bought KWJJ on 1080 AM, a longtime Portland country station. For the first years KJIB stayed easy listening while KWJJ stayed country; later the FM took the KWJJ name and the country format.

The name

The KWJJ call letters honor Wilbur J. Jerman, founder of the original KWJJ — the AM station now known as KRSK.

Sister stations

In Portland, Audacy also owns KGON, KMTT, KNRK, KRSK, KRSK-FM and KYCH-FM.
