97.1 Charlie live

97.1 Charlie FM is a Portland adult hits station. It broadcasts as KYCH-FM on 97.1 FM, serves the Portland metropolitan area and uses the slogan "We Play Everything for Portland". The station is owned by Audacy, and on this page you can listen to Charlie FM live online, free. The online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.

We play everything

Charlie plays adult hits: a wide mix of rock, pop and R&B hits from several decades, with surprises around every corner instead of a short playlist.

Studios and a 100,000-watt signal

The studios and offices are on SW Bancroft Street in Portland. The transmitter is atop Portland's West Hills, off SW Fairmount Court, with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts — the maximum for most FM stations.

History

97.1 FM is one of Portland's oldest FM signals. It signed on on September 3, 1946, as KPFM, and later carried the calls KPAM-FM, KCNR-FM, KKLI and KKSN-FM before becoming KYCH-FM, for "Charlie".

Sister stations

In Portland, Audacy also owns KGON, KMTT, KNRK, KRSK, KRSK-FM and KWJJ-FM.

Press play and Charlie FM starts in seconds — at work, on the Sunset Highway or far from Portland.
