About Radio Mambi 710
Radio Mambí is one of Miami's best-known Spanish-language stations. It broadcasts as WAQI on 710 AM, is licensed to Miami and serves South Florida; its slogan has been "La Voz del Exilio Cubano". The station is owned by Latino Media Network, and on this page you can listen to Radio Mambí live online, free.
Spanish-language radio
WAQI currently airs a Spanish-language oldies format. The station was formerly operated by Uforia Audio Network, the radio division of TelevisaUnivision, under a transitional agreement, and its studios are at Univision's Miami headquarters.
50,000 watts
Radio Mambí broadcasts with 50,000 watts from a transmitter at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Florida State Road 997, near the edge of the Everglades.
Emergency alerts
WAQI is South Florida's designated primary entry point for the Emergency Alert System — one of three in the state — which makes it a key station during hurricanes and other emergencies.
History
The station signed on on December 3, 1939, as WFTL and was WGBS from 1945 to 1985 before becoming WAQI. Its sister station is WQBA.
