History
The frequency signed on on September 14, 1947, as KWBR-FM and was later KGSF and KXKX. As KEAR it was owned by Family Radio from 1959 and carried Christian programming for nearly 20 years. On September 13, 1978, in a three-way deal, KEAR moved to 106.9 and KCBS-FM moved from 98.9 to 97.3. As "97K", KCBS-FM played hot adult contemporary and for a time carried American Top 40 with Casey Kasem. The station was KRQR from 1982 to 1996 before becoming KLLC — "Alice".

In the Bay Area, Audacy also owns KCBS, KFRC-FM, KGMZ-FM, KITS and KRBQ.
