About 102 Jams
102 Jams is the Bay Area's classic hip-hop station. It broadcasts as KRBQ on 102.1 FM, is licensed to San Francisco, California, and uses the slogan "The Bay Area's #1 for Throwbacks". It is owned by Audacy, and on this page you can listen to 102 Jams live online, free.
Classic hip-hop
KRBQ plays classic hip-hop — the throwbacks the Bay loves.
Transmitter and studios
The station transmits from Mount Beacon atop the Marin Headlands above Sausalito. The studios are in the KPIX-TV building in San Francisco's North Beach district.
History
The frequency signed on September 1, 1948, as KDFC, a classical station, and kept that name until 2011. It was KUZX before becoming KRBQ — call letters that point to rhythm and blues and the former "Q" branding.
Sister stations
Audacy's Bay Area stations also include KCBS, KFRC-FM, KGMZ-FM, KITS and KLLC.
