Spanish Christian radio

KRGE carries a Spanish religious format known as Radio Vida — Christian teaching, talk and music for the Valley's Spanish-speaking families.

A station since 1925

The frequency has one of the longest histories in South Texas. It signed on in 1925 as KFLU, became KHMC in 1927 and was KRGV from 1928 to 1987 before taking the KRGE call letters. The name stands for Rio Grande.

Sister stations

Radio Vida's sister stations are KBIC, KXTO and KBPO.

Fe, anywhere

Press play and Radio Vida starts in seconds — in McAllen, Harlingen, Brownsville or far from the Valley. The stream on this page carries the same programming you hear on 1290 AM.

Why listeners tune in

For listeners across Hidalgo and Cameron counties, Radio Vida is a voice of faith in Spanish — a companion for the drive to work, the kitchen and quiet moments at home. Because the stream works anywhere, families can also share it with relatives on the other side of the border or across the country.

For the Valley

Nearly a century after this frequency first went on the air, KRGE still serves the Rio Grande Valley — now as a ministry station built around faith and family.
