Active rock
WMMR plays active rock: the hard-hitting rock of today together with the bands that built the format. Some programming comes through United Stations Radio Networks.
The Flyers
WMMR is part of the Philadelphia Flyers Radio Network, so hockey nights belong on the station too.
MMRchives on HD2
WMMR broadcasts in HD Radio. Its HD2 channel, "MMRchives", plays live rock performances and sessions recorded in WMMR's own studios.
History
The frequency is one of Philadelphia's earliest FM signals: it began in 1941 as W47PH, went on the air as W49PH on April 20, 1942, and was WIP-FM from 1943 to 1966. The WMMR call letters stand for Metromedia Radio, a former owner.
Sister stations
In Philadelphia, Beasley also owns WMGK, WPEN, WTEL, WWDB and WXTU, plus WBEN-FM and WTMR.
