Classical by day, jazz by night
WRTI plays classical music from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and jazz all night. Its HD2 channel reverses the schedule: jazz by day and classical music at night. News updates come from NPR, and programs also come from the Public Radio Exchange and American Public Media.
Studios
The studios are on Cecil B. Moore Avenue in Philadelphia. Translators extend WRTI's signal across the region.
History
WRTI signed on on July 9, 1953. Its call letters stand for Radio Technical Institute.
Listener-supported
WRTI holds periodic fundraisers on the air and online, and listener support keeps it on the air.
Music, anywhere
Press play and WRTI starts in seconds — on the Schuylkill, at home in the evening or anywhere in the world. The stream on this page carries the same music you hear on 90.1 FM.
Two traditions
Classical music and jazz are two of America's great musical traditions, and WRTI gives each its own part of the day.
