WNYC 93.9 FM live

WNYC 93.9 FM is New York City's public radio station. It is licensed to New York and, together with WNYC on AM, is one of the primary outlets for the WNYC programming of New York Public Radio, a non-profit organization. The slogan is "Public Radio from New York to the World", and on this page you can listen to WNYC live online, free.

News and talk

WNYC-FM airs public news and talk as an NPR member station: national and international news, interviews, culture and conversation, together with programming made in New York for New York.

New York Public Radio

New York Public Radio also runs WNYC on AM, the classical station WQXR-FM, WQXW and New Jersey Public Radio. WNYC-FM's HD2 channel simulcasts WQXR-FM, so classical music is one HD channel away.

History

The station's roots go back to 1941, when it began as W39NY, one of the early FM stations of its era. It took the WNYC-FM call letters — for New York City — on March 13, 1943.

Supported by listeners

As a non-commercial station, WNYC relies on the support of its listeners and members across the New York area.
