About News/Talk 1130 WISN
News/Talk 1130 WISN is Milwaukee's news and talk station. It broadcasts on 1130 AM, serves Greater Milwaukee and Southeast Wisconsin, and describes itself as Milwaukee's home for news, traffic and weather. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, and on this page you can listen to WISN live online, free.
News, traffic and weather
WISN's local shows focus on Milwaukee and Wisconsin — politics in Madison, life in the city and the suburbs, and the stories people talk about at work — with regular traffic and weather updates for Southeast Wisconsin. National news comes from Fox News Radio, and the station works with Milwaukee's Fox television station, WITI, on news coverage.
National talk
Alongside its local hosts, WISN carries national talk programs from Premiere Networks and Westwood One, so the schedule mixes Milwaukee voices with some of the best-known names in American talk radio.
A Milwaukee pioneer
WISN is one of the oldest stations in Wisconsin. It went on the air in October 1922 as WIAO, became WSOE in 1924 and later took the WISN call letters, which come from The Wisconsin News, a Hearst-owned daily that later merged into The Milwaukee Sentinel.
Studios and sister stations
The studios are on Howard Avenue in suburban Greenfield. iHeartMedia's other Milwaukee stations include WOKY, WKKV-FM, WMIL-FM, WRIT-FM and WRNW.
