WGN AM 720 live

WGN AM 720 is Chicago's news and talk station. It broadcasts on 720 AM and describes itself simply as "Chicago's News & Talk". Owned by Tribune Media, WGN is one of the most famous radio stations in the United States, and on this page you can listen to it live online, free and without an app.

News and conversation

WGN's schedule is built around Chicago: local news, traffic and weather in the mornings and evenings, and talk shows in between about the city, its politics, food, culture and sports. Its hosts have been part of daily life in Chicago for generations, and the station's style has always mixed serious news with warm, conversational talk.

A Chicago institution

The WGN call letters stand for "World's Greatest Newspaper", the old slogan of the Chicago Tribune, which founded the station in the 1920s. Over the decades WGN became one of the defining voices of Chicago radio, famous for its news coverage and for its long history of sports broadcasts, including many years as the radio home of the Chicago Cubs.

A clear-channel signal

WGN broadcasts on 720 AM, one of the big clear-channel frequencies, so at night its signal travels far beyond Chicago and across much of the Midwest. Online, the station reaches listeners everywhere.
