The station is owned by Audacy, and on this page you can listen to B96 live online, free. The online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.

Rhythmic hits

B96 plays a rhythmic hot adult contemporary format: dance-friendly pop, hip-hop-influenced hits and current favorites with a beat.

A long history

The station dates to November 1941, when it began as W67C. In 1943 it became WBBM-FM, the FM partner of WBBM. It moved to 99.3 MHz in 1946, to 97.1 MHz in 1947 and to its current home at 96.3 MHz in 1953. In the 1950s WBBM-AM-FM carried a full-service middle-of-the-road format of popular music, news and talk, and after 1964 most of the music gave way to news and talk.

HD Radio

The HD2 channel carries Channel Q.
