About Colorado Public Radio News

CPR News is Colorado Public Radio's news and talk service. Its flagship is KCFR-FM on 90.1 FM, licensed to Denver, Colorado, and it is simulcast over several AM and FM stations across the state. On this page you can listen to CPR News live online, free.

News and talk

KCFR-FM carries public radio news and talk as an NPR affiliate, along with Colorado-focused reporting.

Across Colorado — and beyond

Because CPR News is simulcast statewide, some of its signals also reach eastern Utah and southern Wyoming. Some KCFR-FM programming is heard on KPRE 89.9 in Vail, which also carries classical KVOD.

Ownership

KCFR-FM is a noncommercial station owned by Colorado Public Radio (Public Broadcasting of Colorado). Its sister stations are KVOD and KVOQ.

History

The station signed on November 4, 1970, as KCFR — "Colorado Free Radio". It was KVOD from 2001 to 2008 before becoming KCFR-FM.
