About News/Talk 8•3•0 WCCO

News/Talk 830 WCCO is the Twin Cities' news and talk station. It broadcasts on 830 AM — said on air as "eight-three-oh" — and serves Minneapolis–Saint Paul and much of the Upper Midwest. The station is owned by Audacy, and on this page you can listen to WCCO live online, free. The online stream is offered to listeners inside the United States; outside the country it may not play because of rights restrictions.

News, talk and the Twins

WCCO airs news and talk with national news from ABC News Radio and programs from Premiere Networks and Westwood One. It is affiliated with the Minnesota Twins.

A 50,000-watt clear channel

WCCO is a Class A clear-channel station with 50,000 watts, the maximum permitted, and a non-directional signal. By day it reaches much of Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin and Iowa; at night it covers a wide area of the Central United States and Central Canada. The transmitter is off Coon Rapids Boulevard at Lily Street NW in Coon Rapids, and WCCO is also heard on the HD2 channel of sister station KMNB (102.9 FM).

The flour company

WCCO signed on on September 4, 1922, as WLAG. Its call letters come from the Washburn Crosby Company, a former owner and the flour company behind Gold Medal Flour.

Sister stations

In the Twin Cities, Audacy also owns KMNB and KZJK.
