Talk radio

WHLO airs a conservative talk format with national programming from ABC News Radio, Fox News Radio and Premiere Networks.

A Cleveland beginning

WHLO began broadcasting in January 1927 as WJAY in Cleveland. Zenith Electronics, owner of WJAZ in Chicago, was a backing investor in its first year. The station became WCLE in 1937 and moved to Akron on February 25, 1945, as WHKK.

The call letters

The WHLO call letters, adopted in 1960, are meant to say "Hello".

Sister stations

iHeartMedia's Akron stations also include WHOF, WKDD and WRQK-FM.

Talk, anywhere
