A long history

610 AM dates to 1941, when it signed on as WAYS. Over the decades it carried many call signs — WROQ, WAES, WGKL, WAQS, WRFX — and from 1995 to 2025 it was sports station WFNZ, before becoming WPZS, for "Praise".

Sister stations

In Charlotte, Urban One also owns WBT, WBT-FM, WFNZ-FM and WOSF.

Inspiration, anywhere

Press play and Praise starts in seconds — on I-77, at work or anywhere you are. The stream on this page carries the same music you hear on 610 AM and 102.5 FM.

Every day of the week

Gospel radio is a companion for the whole week, not only Sunday, with music and encouragement for the commute, the workday and the evening at home.
